Now this is not mere pirate language.  Each country or nation, for any specified time throughout the ages, assigns names common to their area and time, though uncommon perhaps to us now.  So, the name of Er was chosen for Judah's firstborn. But, before this happened, let's back up a bit ...to before Judah was married. The Bible says that Jacob's many sons perceived what they felt was favoritism by their dad toward Joseph. The brothers reasoned that they would kill Joseph, and be rid of him.  Now, this may seem too similar to the Cain and Abel drama, as that played out into a very wicked reality.  Perhaps the similarity crossed Reuben's mind as he suggested they not kill their brother ...but just throw him in a vast pit, with no water.  And they took the coat of many colors which their dad had given Joseph ...then threw him in the pit. Now, Judah asked what profit that would be ...and he suggested that they sell Joseph as a slave. The beginning of the ...

PHOENIX — Nick became a father at 14, a fact he wouldn't learn for eight years.   While in high school, Nick had sex with a 20-year-old woman. As he sees it now, she took advantage of a lonely kid going through a rough patch at home.   State law says a child younger than 15 cannot consent with an adult under any circumstance, making Nick a rape victim. Nick didn't press charges and says he didn't realize at the time that it was even something to consider.   The two went their separate ways. Nick, now 24 and living in Phoenix, graduated from high school, went to college and became a medical assistant.   Then two years ago, the state served him with papers demanding child support. That's how he found out he had a then-6-year-old daughter.   "It was a shock," he said. "I was living my life and enjoying being young. To find out you have a 6-year-old? It's unexplainable. It freaked me out."   He said he panicked, ignored the legal documen...

There was an article that asked the question whether men should have to pay ...and I say, "Yes!!"

They gave a good argument from a  woman's rights  point of view ...drawing parallel conclusions for men's rights.  But, I don't agree with either approach ...as I focus on the baby's rights. I can't even imagine an unwanted child ... Yes, there are problematic situations, but the way I look at those also ...is that I am problematic, and God still wants me.  Do I show that perfect love??  Not even close, but I do feel that when I look to God's love, that is the best I can do to view it. Anyway, I am going to post the article here: (typed in italic ...) A controversial post that recently ran in the New York Times. It was written by Laurie Shrage, a women’s studies professor in Florida. No one in the world will defend deadbeat dads who don’t support their kids after a divorce, that’s a completely different scenario than men who are forced to support a child that they never wanted to have. In her opinion the law should reflect this obvious differen...

Frank shows up to pick up his wife, Jenny, who had joined a Pro-life group outside an abortion clinic. The group had committed to stand together outside the clinic until 5:00pm. It is now 5:10pm, and everyone has left, except Jenny.

Jenny tells her husband, "Just  leave the signs for me. The person who owns the signs is very particular how they are placed in that large case over there. So, could you please just watch the signs until I get back from the bathroom?" Frank replies, "Sure ..." Jenny reassures him, "I won't be long ...I'll go to the restaurant across the street." As Frank stands there, a teenager or young adult girl drive up, leaping out of her car. She begins pulling signs up, throwing them to the ground, hollering, "What right do you have telling me what I can or cannot do!?!  What does a man know about a woman's feelings!?!" Frank explains, "I just came here to pick up my wife ...she went across the street, and said she'd be right back.  As far as knowing about a woman's feelings ...well, I in no way claim to know yours, but I do know about my wife's feelings.  I know she's not going to be happy about you throwin...
